The house has been decorated by a famous English interior designer who has effortlessly mixed classic and contemporary fabrics, this gives the house a feeling of substance but is airy and light and relaxed.
The house has wide planked white oak floors line and is accompanied by sky high ceilings. A light and bright open floor plan gives the interior a relaxed atmosphere. The large drawing room is comfortable and stylish, warm yet uncluttered. Moroccan rugs and a combination of colours make the room charming and stylish. At one end of the drawing room, a dining area has been arranged, which can easily seat 8 and has a warm, intimate feel as well as a drinks table and a sideboard. The large white, state of the art kitchen has been designed to make it it feel like a French farmhouse kitchen; a large central unit has stools for breakfast eating. A library runs off the drawing room for those wanting a quiet moment – there are hundreds of books and a piano and large orange/brown leather chairs that give the room style and class.
There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms, including an expansive master suite outfitted with Cathedral ceilings. The view from the bed is an ancient tree outside, giving guests the feeling of being in the countryside, not the heart of Venice. Two en-suite bedrooms are one the first floor with the master and the fourth bedroom is downstairs. The designer has used a combination of striking colours and patterns that are restful but interesting in each of the rooms.
A gracious backyard with a large oak tree reminiscent of a secret garden captures cool ocean breezes with ample room to enjoy picturesque indoor-outdoor living. In the evenings, this area is magical, with lanterns, a firepit and a barbecue.
