Things to do

Capalbio, an old mediaeval town, is a popular tourist resort, because of the enchanting narrow streets in the town centre, the beautiful landscape of its 12 km of beaches and its surrounding areas with a wealth of monumental and natural gems.

Within a few dozen kilometres you can find wonderful places to explore. Why not visit one of the most significant examples of environmental art in Italy, the Tarot Garden, an art park with cyclopic sculptures made by Niki de Saint Phalle on a hillside outside Capalbio.

Near here are the magnificent little bays of Monte Argentario (Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano, the island of Giglio and Giannutri), the tufa rock archaeological park which extends over an extremely large area between Pitigliano, Sorano and Sovana and includes several Etruscan burial grounds scattered throughout the region, or why not treat yourself to a bath in the spa waters, with a temperature of 37.5oC, at the Saturnia Thermal Baths.

This is also a land of wine and oil, for visits to wine cellars, wine-producing companies and oil mills to discover the genuine flavours of the place and its many food and wine delights.

But it is also an ideal place for horse-riding and learning to ride, for enjoyable trips inside the Maremma regional park, and for those who love to discover the region by bicycle, since it is a predominantly hilly area with many largely empty roads, it is perfect for cycling, a unique way to explore at first hand the beautiful sights of the region, the nature trails and the unspoilt landscape.
Also ancient and famous is the Maremma hunting tradition, and the variety of environments enables hunt-lovers to find a very wide assortment of game.
Nature, Sea, Culture: these are the ingredients this holiday will give you.

It is a region which has something for everyone, which is unforgettable and which is an ideal place for any season.
