Cricket court is a much-loved family home. In the reign of King George, the II the court was badly damaged by fire. During the middle ages, it was passed successively to the earl of Devon. In the reign of Queen Elizabeth, I it was brought by Mathew Pitt. From here to the present century it was owned by the Pitts. In 1811, The eccentric Stephen Pitt returned and built the present court to how it stands today.
