Hex Cottage is a thatched former forester’s cottage in Suffolk which comes ‘without electricity’ so our guests can experience undisturbed peace and a real sense of bygone times.
Whilst Hex Cottage comes ‘without electricity’, the Esse wood-fired range cooker in the kitchen expertly heats the cottage and provides endless piping-hot water. Here, there is the original bread oven, a classic porcelain butler sink and antique table seating four, whilst a stable door opens to views of the meadow and woods beyond. The sitting room is set on the original brick flooring, with a cosy atmosphere created by the open hearth fire, sink-into sofa and eclectic mix of furnishings. The romance is accentuated by storm lanterns and candles for lighting.
The romantic experience continues in the bedroom with its king-size bed complete with fairy-tale canopy. Gaze out of the original leaded windows or take in the hand-picked furnishings, wood floor, sheepskin rugs and candlelit ambiance. The bathroom is the ultimate haven for relaxation with its luxury roll-top bath, zinc coated vanity unit and original brick floor.
