Details

Built in 1820 and set in 500 acres of pastures and parkland, the estate is a working farm. Norton Hall is a country residence that has been in the family since 1937.

Inside

Large high-ceilinged Georgian rooms spread over 2 floors, formal drawing room with smaller sitting room. Spacious kitchen seating 12, formal dining room seating up to 22 guests and a snooker room. All rooms are decorated to a high standard and the house is homely and suited for a family. All the rooms downstairs have open log fires.

Bedrooms

Sleeps 18 in 4 beautiful double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms.
Then 5 more bedrooms sharing 2 bathrooms – one of which is a small double, one a twin.
2 of the bedrooms have basins.

Outside

500 acres of beautiful countryside, walled kitchen garden with fresh vegetables (in season), a garden terrace and a BBQ area with outdoor furniture. The property also offers a large outdoor heated pool (May-Sept) and tennis court.

Location

The property is located 20 mins from Stow-on-the wold.

The nearest station is Honeybourne, just five minutes from the house.

4 miles from Chipping Camden and Broadway

8 miles to Stratford-upon-Avon (birthplace of Shakespeare)

55 minute train from London Paddington to Oxford

The nearest airports are Heathrow and Birmingham, both about an hour away.

Private helicopters (upon request) can land in a field beside the house.

Staff & Dining

The kitchen is fully equipped with an AGA, electric oven, hob, microwave, an American-style fridge/freezer and ample cutlery, pots and pans. Chefs and caterers are available on request. Food and drink can be ordered in advance.

Weekly cleaning (Mon-Fri) included, extra cleaning can be arranged upon request. Gardener included, pool cleaning included and extra staff can also be arranged upon request.

Things to Do

Guests are free to roam over the Estate and around the arboretum. For those wanting to venture further afield there are lovely walks to and around Meon Hill and along the Cotswold escarpment towards Hidcote. The Cotswold Way (http://www.cotswold-begins at Chipping Campden, approx 3 1/2 miles away. There is a great cycle ride along the disused railway line to Stratford-upon-Avon. There is approx 1 mile of private drive which is safe for children.

Children may enjoy helping to feed the chickens (eggs available), guinea pigs, pigs etc and there is a pool which guests can use by arrangement (We cannot guarantee that it will be in use during your visit). Other attractions that the kids will enjoy include Cotswold Farm Park, Warwick Castle, The Maize maze at Hidcote, Toddington Steam railway, Domestic Fowl Trust, Birdland and Cotswold Falconry Centre

Explore the nearby market towns and villages such as Chipping Campden, Broadway, Stow On The Wold, Burton On The Water, Ebrington and Moreton In Marsh. Gardens that are a must-see include Hidcote Gardens and the wonderful privately owned Kiftesgate Court. The local Village of Mickleton (2 mile walk) has 2 pubs, a really good butcher, and a number of farm shops with great fresh local produce from The Vale Of Evesham. The 3 Ways House Hotel in Mickleton is home to The Pudding Club favourite of Rick Stein. Daylesford Organic Farm Shop & Spa etc is approx 1/2 hour away.

Walks – very well-placed for Cotswold Way and Heart of England Way

For those who want culture, Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace, is only 8 miles away with its museums and spectacular new theatre. (It also has a waitrose!)

Cheltenham is 15 miles away. Apart from the races there are numerous festivals, Jazz, Music, literature, science.

The art gallery of Compton Verney near Kineton in Warwickshire is worth a visit.

Stanway House has the largest gravity-fed fountain in Europe.

Also pretty close (within 15 miles) are Sudeley Castle, Snowshill Manor and Charlecote Park.

Gloucester cathedral is also a must-see.
