An Anglo-Irish aristocratic family’s Eastern Highland retreat for nearly a century renowned for its privacy. Set at the head of the Belmont valley with far reaching views of the quartzite Chimanimani mountains, Rathmore Estate comprises pine and eucalyptus forests as well as macadamia and avocado orchards. The Chimanimani quartzite mountains are rich in prehistoric gold and diamond deposits. There are caves of solid rose quartz and rivers and water falls for wild swimming. Indigenous hibiscus, protea and tree orchids, mountain acacias and stunning rocks made from pyrite.

Main House bedrooms

The Master suite has two bedrooms, one with a four poster bed and fire place and one with a
Queen size bed and both of them sharing an en suite bathroom
Two guest suites; the Blue bedroom with four poster bed and stunning soft furnishings with en
suite bathroom, the Pink bedroom with two single beds and en suite bathroom
All rooms have the finest quality bed linen and bath towels

The Tower bedrooms

Two double bedrooms and one single bedroom and one bathroom (ideal for children)

Rathmore estate: 19 49’51.95″ S 32 53’33.11″ E
Located in Eastern Zimbabwe and is a five-hour drive from Harare. The property can be
accessed by road or by private Aeroplane to nearby Chipinge Town airstrip.

Staff and Dining

Fully staffed with a house keeper, cook, two maids, over night security and five gardeners.

A comprehensive gourmet menu to chose from (pre arranged) using organic vegetables and herbs from the extensive kitchen gardens. Wild basil flavoured honey is produced on the Estate.

The Dining room seats up to 12 people (with a roaring fire in winter, with an additional children’s table that can seat up to six if required in the Hall next to the dining room.

Al fresco dining outside under a pergola in Summer where there is a double stone BBQ.
