Two of the bedrooms feature enormous in-room freestanding roll-top baths, whilst the others have luxuriously-appointed shower rooms with endless piping-hot water and fluffy towels. Downstairs, it is all about open-plan living over heated brick floors with shuttered glass doors that slide open. Think deep sofas, comfy throws and an iconic Ergo Focus wood burner for chilly evenings.
The kitchen is a cook’s delight with a professional range, large island and butler sink and there’s a dining table for eight. Outside, enjoy BBQs on the private terrace, explore the estate on Pashley bicycles or hold your own tournament on the nearby tennis court open year-round.
Wilderness Reserve is a just over two hours from London by car and two hours by train. Guests can arrange to be collected from nearby Darsham station. Helicopters can land in the parkland (please contact the General Manager).

There’s a Middle Eastern flavour to the lunchtime sharing dishes but Pump Street bakery bread, Aspalls Cider and St Peter’s Brewery Beer on the menu keep it local.
One of our favourite gastro pubs, The Unruly Pig, near Woodbridge was recently named Suffolk Pub of the Year and in Walberswick, The Anchor is a firm favourite. At nearby RSPB Minsmere, There’s plenty to do here for both the novice and the experienced bird watcher. Use the bird watching hides to shelter you in all weathers or take the nature trail walk to explore the beautiful woods and wetlands scenery.
For keen gardeners, find peace and tranquillity in the beautiful Grade I listed gardens at Helmingham Hall. Spend the day taking in the sights and smells of the gorgeous flowers, the exquisite manicured hedges and borders, stroll through the orchard and bask in the heady scents of the rose garden.
