Perched on a hill, it commands sweeping views of the surrounding mountains from every room. A family-owned and run luxurious and authentic mountain retreat, Villa Gella offers an ideal setting for intimate family holidays, relaxed gatherings of friends and other special occasions during all four seasons of the year.

Inside

The large sitting/dining room, the small library and the double bedrooms are spread over three floors, with  the spa located on the ground floor. A separate wing hosts the kitchen and other utility rooms and also offers a small breakfast space. All rooms boast open wood-burning fireplaces, underfloor heating, and spectacular views to the surrounding mountains.  Art work from the family collection and artefacts from the family’s history provide a unique ambience in the villa.

Bedrooms

6 double bedrooms of different sizes, all en suite, 1 with twin beds, and 1 with a platform bed and platform sofa allowing usage similar to twin beds. There are 10 bathrooms consisting of en suites for the bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the spa area, 1 by the library and another near the breakfast area.

Outside

The large terrace, a mirror image of the living/dining room serves as an area for relaxation or meals throughout the year due to underfloor heating and open fireplace. A herb garden is located in front of the service wing of the villa. The terraced garden provides loungers in front of the indoor swimming pool, seating around the water mirror, a small orchard,sports area for badminton and petanque courts, children’s playground and a sitting area with open BBQ.

Location

Near Pamporovo, Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria

The property is located 220km from the capital city of Sofia and 100km from the second largest city of Plovdiv.

Air

Flights are available from major European cities to Sofia on a daily basis and from London to the city of Plovdiv twice a week.  Nearest foreign airports are in Istanbul, Turkey, and Thessaloniki, Greece.

Heli-pad

The villa can be accessed by car or helicopter (upon request); helicopters can land in the nearby resort of Pamporovo or near the villa (upon request).

Staff & Dining

The kitchen is professionally equipped and the food is prepared by the resident chef.  Wine can be ordered in advance from top award winning wineries in Bulgaria. Wine selection from abroad can also be offered upon request.

Staff of five, including chef, gardener/technician and cleaners. Daily cleaning is provided.

Additional staff can be hired upon request.

Things to Do

Hiking, caving and mountaineering, horseback riding, tennis, fishing and boating, hunting
are all available. Bicycles and snowmobiles are available upon request.
