The Lodge is a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing. The friendly, welcoming staff are there to take care of your every need, so all you have to do is relax, unwind and enjoy the view.

Built into the side of a gentle slope, the house is on two levels. A number of rooms are built around the courtyard including a TV room, large sitting room, a dining room and a kitchen.

The sitting room opens onto an 80 ft veranda (25 m) with a wonderful view over the estuary to the sea, and plenty of comfortable seating from which to enjoy it. The dining room leads out onto a charming pergola with a large green mosaic-tiled communal table and cushioned seating, wonderful for outdoor meals. Under the veranda on the lower level lies a children’s playroom overlooking the estuary, fragrant eucalyptus trees and the swimming pool beyond.

5 bedrooms, built around the large courtyard situated on the ground floor level. 4 enjoy en suite bathrooms while bedroom 5 has its own bathroom across the hall. Two fold-out single beds are available on request. There are a further 2 bedrooms with en suite bathrooms under the veranda on the lower level. All of these rooms overlook the estuary, fragrant eucalyptus trees and the swimming pool beyond. All bathrooms have two sinks and a shower.

As water is very scarce in Morocco there are no bath tubs at Lagoon Lodge. Water comes from the property’s own well, and we’re sure you’ll understand how valuable this resource is. The owners run an eco-friendly lodge. All the water in the house is heated using solar panels and all the grey water is recycled through various filtration tanks. It is then used to water the garden.

The large courtyard is home to palm, olive and orange trees. As well as an olive grove and natural farmland, Lagoon Lodge boasts Morocco’s first natural swimming pool. No chemicals are used in the maintenance of the pool. Water passes through a UV light in the filter, which kills algae and bacteria. In front of the pool is a lush lawn and loungers behind and a stunning view of the estuary.

Fresh herbs, vegetables and fruits are grown in the extensive kitchen garden, a large roof terrace with extraordinary 360 degree views can be reached via a staircase from the inner courtyard. If you have the energy, you can play ping pong or badminton.

The closest airport is Mohammed V Airport at Casablanca, a two-hour drive North of Oualidia. Alternatively you can fly to Marrakech Menara airport, which is a 3-hour drive away. Marrakech is also served by most of the major airlines. Airport transfers can be arranged for you.

Both Casablanca and Marrakech airports have plenty of car hire companies on site including Avis, Hertz, National, Europe Car and many others. It is not possible to hire cars in Oualidia itself, and as Lagoon Lodge is 4 km from the town, you may wish to consider renting car/s so that you can get to town easily and visit some of the local sites of interest.

Alternatively the staff will always be happy to call a taxi for you to take you into town and back, or arrange for a car with a driver to be at your disposal for as long as you need them.
