If you are looking to escape somewhere beautiful, both inside and out, then look no further. This Villa is special and offers you the ideal location to chill out, kick back and enjoy the view. Perfect for a honeymoon, romantic retreat or simply for people who appreciate a quiet peaceful getaway.

Not long ago, Villa Rou was a roofless ruin in the need of help in the small hamlet of Rou on the north east coast of Corfu.

Then it caught the eye of a successful London artist with an eye for design, and she transformed it into the beautiful retreat that stands today.
Inside this large one-bedroom restored farmhouse, the main living areas feature high ceilings, old thick walls and lots of windows so the house always feels pleasantly cool and airy. The large country style kitchen has everything a cook could wish for and you can choose to eat inside at the large dining table or in the covered eating area outside.

An arch and steps lead from the kitchen to a lovely sitting room, with sumptuous sofa and chairs. There is a wood burning stove for you to use, depending on the time of year you visit. There is also a TV and extensive DVD library for guests to use. WiFi internet is included and there are various Ipod docks throughout the house.

The luxurious bedroom features a super king size bed with handmade mattress, air con, and three sets of French windows each opening onto a private terrace, and an en-suite wet room, complete with Moroccan hand beaten basin, is the ideal place to cool off or steam up in.

This place is all about location. Set in olive groves, which in spring are covered in wild flowers, the spacious garden has been designed perfectly to complement the natural landscape.
The pool small, but perfectly formed, and the terrace area are luxurious, with sun beds and umbrellas to provide shade. It’s the perfect place to take in the take in the uninterrupted views across the sea to Albania. Also outdoors is a covered pergola, this shades the outdoor eating area and barbecue. There are a variety of terraces and seating throughout the gardens where you can enjoy this peaceful and magical setting.

The House is wholly private and whilst you’re inside the house or using the terraces and pool outside you’re not overlooked at all.

At the front of the house there is space for parking for a car, which is essential. You may be very tempted not to leave this oasis of calm, but if you do then this area of Corfu is a wonderful place to explore. Although this house is high up in the hills in a secluded setting,  you can drive down to Agni beach in a few minutes, to enjoy a swim or some local food in some of the best beach tavernas on the island.

The airport is only 50 minutes away.

Agni beach with good restaurants is a 15 min drive. San Stefanos also has excellent restaurants and is only 20 mins away.

Avlaki beach and restaurants 15-20 min drive

Yannis supermarket in Sinies 15 mins

Depending on when you visit you can enjoy a variety of activities. There are lovely walks from the house taking you to Katavalos, about 1km away or if you are feeling energetic, you could walk up to Megoulas, a deserted heritage village.

It is also a great place to see diverse wildlife in the area, such as; tortoises, owls, eagles, buzzards, butterflies, and lizards.
