Located in Kennebunkport, a town in York County, Maine, only 2 homes away from Walker’s Point (Ex- President Bush’s compound). Ocean Avenue is the original location of prestigious summer residences since it was discovered in the 1870s.

The town center, the area in and around Dock Square, is located along the Kennebunk River, approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) from the mouth of the river on the Atlantic Ocean. Historically a shipbuilding and fishing village, for well over a century the town has been a popular summer colony and seaside tourist destination. The Dock Square area has a district of souvenir shops, art galleries, seafood restaurants, and bed and breakfasts. Cape Porpoise, while retaining its identity as a fishing harbor, has a very small village area with several restaurants, a church, grocery store, coffee shop, small library, and art gallery.

Kennebunkport has a reputation as a summer haven for the upper class and is one of the wealthiest communities in the state of Maine.

Staff and Dining

The Stonehouse has  lovely housekeeper called Sandy who will meet you upon your arrival to show you around and get you comfortable with all. There will always be someone available to talk to for any questions or troubleshooting. With advance notice she is available to do a mid-week cleaning or arrange for a daily housekeeper.

A chef or a caterer can be made available with advance notice. There are MANY options for great food and wine in Kennebunkport, Kennebunk, Wells and Portland. They range from diners to lobster shacks to AAA Five Diamond/Forbes 5 Star Fine Dining. They can be overlooking the ocean or hidden in the woods. Take your pick! (Summers are busy so reservations are highly encouraged at most popular restaurants.) Menus from many restaurants are included in the information notebook.
