Euston Hall, home to the Dukes of Grafton for over 350 years, was built by Lord Arlington in 1666. The Palladian historic home is set in 10,500 acres of landscaped gardens, parkland, ancient broadleaf woodland and agricultural farmland. Add this to the already wonderful Pleasure Grounds and Waterways, designed by William Kent and Capability Brown, Euston Hall is a magical place to stay. The Hall itself sleeps 19, and the estates additional accommodation ´The Temple Folly´ sleeps 8.
Euston gardens and pleasure grounds consist of 300 acres, which sit within the wider Estate’s 10,500 acres. It was created over the centuries by John Evelyn, William Kent and Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. The Euston Estate boasts a wide range of habitats, including broadleaf woodland areas, and is home to the rare White Admiral butterflies and Stone Curlews. The river Blackbourne runs through the Estate, offering many activities including a wild-swimming lake and a weir for kayaking and paddle boarding. Please see above for an extensive list of their activities. There is a stunning wood-burning sauna in a specially built cabin overlooking the lake and river, perfect for relaxing on lazy days.
The 12th Duke and Duchess of Grafton have worked tirelessly to restore the Hall and its grounds since 2012. They collaborated with conservation specialists during three years of extensive renovations, to restore the Hall’s historical grandeur, whilst creating luxurious, and welcoming spaces. It now boasts super speed WIFI (300mb/s), fabulous ensuite bathrooms, magnificently appointed bedrooms and sumptuous entertaining spaces. The Hall is decorated with antiques collected by the family over the centuries, and is heavily hung with artwork by Van Dyk, Stubbs and Reynolds.
Adorned with seventeenth century portraits of the Royal Family, the palatial Dining Room offers the perfect setting for an evening of fine food and wine for up to twenty guests. The hall offers further dining experiences in the Old Kitchen or outside in a variety of locations, such as by the weir. Staff included is a chef and kitchen team, 2 butlers, housekeeping (full turn down), groundsmen, security and a dedicated guest liaison and activities co-ordinator.
The Hall has 10 bedrooms throughout the property, 6 of which are ensuite. The River and Bird rooms make up the West Wing Suite, perfect for a family. The Balcony, Arlington and Courtyard Rooms are found on the first floor. The rest are on the second floor. The Grafton wing has a study, dressing room and two separate bathrooms, one of which has a shower and a bath. The Temple features two double bedrooms with king size beds and en suite shower rooms while the Cabin (Situated in The Temple’s gardens) features a double bedroom and a single bedroom with extendable truckle bed.
All the bathrooms come equipped with both baths and showers. The Hall has 6 en suite bathroom. The Flower and Chinese Bedrooms share a bathroom as well as the River and Bird Rooms. The Order of Bathrooms on the slide show match that of the bedrooms above. Both bedrooms in the Temple have their own bathrooms. Bedroom 1 has a shower room, whilst bedroom 2 has a large free standing bath with a dressing room. The Cabin has one bathroom with both a bath and shower.
