Kasbah Tameslohte is a stunning contemporary villa situated in the middle of the desert, twenty minutes from Marrakech’s old town. This hidden oasis sits on the top of a hill with breathtaking 360 degree views of the Atlas mountains. Consciously created, this property is an environment friendly home fully powered with solar energy, its own well and filtered water and is built using traditional materials sourced locally supporting several Women’s co-operatives and emerging artists. Kasbah’s designer, Vintage Curator ‘Carmen Haid’, describes it as ‘a place of rest, pleasure and dreams filled with Morocco’s air of possibility’
Kasbah Tameslohte sits upon two hectares of land, rich with an assortment of fauna, including lemon, orange and olive trees, fragrant herbs and a cactus garden. There are plenty of outdoor spaces for relaxation. Beside the saltwater infinity pool, there is a Barbecue area with a large day bed, and several sofas with large umbrellas dotted around the house. Additionally, there is a shaded outdoor first floor terrace with breathtaking views of Atlas Mountain, a hammock, a ping pong table and a large trampoline.
The decor pays homage to Moroccan hand craftsmanship using a blended mix of styles, filled with nomadic artefacts, antiques and curiosities from around the world. The woven textiles and array of magical colour bring the interior of Kasbah Tameslohte to life. This look is softened by its accessories: ceramics, a variety of black-and- white Atelier Mayer baskets. Each bathroom has beauty products made with natural, hand-harvested ingredients by local maker Botanika. At the back of the house is the ATELIER MAYER Showroom, which can also be used as an artist studio or boutique space.
Every need is covered by the team at Kasbah Tameslohte, allowing for full relaxation. This fully staffed property includes a chef, driver, butler, a guardian who lives at the property with their dog ‘Simba’. Variety is never in short supply, with a menu that changes every day and a kitchen which is supplied daily with fresh, organic, local produce, including daily fresh eggs from the properties own chickens. The indoor dining room accommodates twelve people and the outdoor dining area seats twenty four.
Kasbah Tameslohte has five luxurious en-suite bedrooms in total, including two grand suites, each featuring a private terrace and two bedrooms featuring a balcony.
The Villa has five en-suite bathrooms and one shared bathroom. There is a shower in four of the en-suites and a bath in one of them. The shared bathroom features both.
