Meda Gedara’s tropical garden is stunning, and its location beside a wild beach is simply breathtaking. Carefully sculptured gardens wrap around the villa and cascade towards the beach. The view looks beyond the spilt level infinity pool (which is on a lower level). Jungle surrounds the villa and the 74ft water slide is discreetly hidden, wrapped in hibiscus and tropical planting. The villa also features a yoga shala with ocean views, an umpire’s hut for garden cricket matches, and meticulously designed outdoor amenities, creating a family paradise.
As you step through the antique temple doors, Meda Gedara’s interiors exude meticulous attention to detail and sophistication. From the grand sweeping staircase to the exceptional design elements, the villa showcases a harmonious blend of historical charm and modern amenities. The breathtaking view of the turquoise ocean from the villa is an experience that cannot be fully captured in photographs. The ground floor is largely open plan, but with a central kids tv room and a cinema room. The very large verandah serves as extended living space for seating, dining and table tennis etc.
The Villa is fully staffed. The resident chef, Sudantha, prepares mouthwatering meals, blending the best of Sri Lankan and Western cuisines. Guests can enjoy a wide range of culinary delights without the need to plan meals. The Villa Manager, Charith, leads a professional team of eleven staff members who take great pride in looking after guests’ every need. They are available from 7.30am until 10pm to ensure a memorable and relaxing stay.

You can't travel to Sri Lanka and not visit a tea plantation. Handunugoda is a 45 minute drive from Meda Gedara and could easily be visited en route to Galle. Handunugoda is a family owned tea estate in Tittagalla, Ahangama. Which has won international recognition producing the famous ‘Virgin White Tea’ which is untouched by hand! This charming estate is the perfect location for a morning stroll through the plantations complete with, rubber, cinnamon and coconut trees. Take a tour up to the plantation house and stop by for a visit to see the working museum where some of the machines are 140 years old, they can still be seen working today!
